Snakes are one of the most ferocious reptiles on the planet. One characteristic that makes them so terrifying is their ability to dislocate their jaw and swallow animals as a whole.
Here is a quite similar case.
A giant snake was killed because villagers thought it was eating a calf. They found the snake and cut it open.
What did they find? Check the whole story to find out.
The incident took place in Nigeria!
Villagers in Nigeria noticed a massive snake; they suspected it could only get that large after eating their cow, and there was no possible way it would be that big naturally.
Upon this discovery, locals decided to kill the reptile.
They killed the snake thinking it was snacking on their livestock.
When they cut open the dead snake, they were in another shock.
It turns out that the snake was pregnant, with multiple eggs. Many snakes species can give up to 100 eggs at a time, but seeing the eggs inside the snake’s body is a shocking image.
The serpent looks to be about a foot wide and several meters long, resembling an anaconda.
But with the species of anaconda restricted to South America, it is likely pictured that the snake is an African rock Python.
Most male anacondas are typically smaller than females, which can grow up to and beyond 4.8m in length
According to some reports on African rock pythons, it is the continent’s biggest snake and one of the world’s largest, growing up to a massive 6m in length.
Like all pythons, the African rock python is non-poisonous and kills its prey by constriction.
After clutching the prey, the snake coils around it, tightening its loop every time the victim breathes out.
However, death is thought to be caused by cardiac arrest rather than by asphyxiation or crushing.
Eating a cow is no surprise…
The African rock Python feeds on a variety large rodents, monkeys, antelopes, fruit bats, and even crocodiles in forest areas.
